Guardian terms of use
Last updated 23 October 2026
What Guardian is
Guardian is a free hackathon prototype that gives scam warnings, checks whether a caller is really family, and walks you through recovery steps. It is not a bank, a security service or legal advice.
No guarantee
Guardian looks for warning signs. It cannot catch every scam, and it never says a link is "safe". "No red flags found" means only that it found none. If something feels wrong, stop, hang up, and call your bank or family on a number you already know.
Using it fairly
- Only add people to your family circle who agree to receive Guardian's messages.
- Do not use Guardian to visit or attack websites you have no reason to check.
- Never share passwords, codes, PINs or card numbers with Guardian or anyone else.
Liability
Guardian is provided as is, without warranty. To the extent the law allows, the team is not liable for losses from scams it did not detect or from relying on its advice.
